Now that Groundhog Day has passed and we're hoping that some of the worst winter viruses will soon be behind us, I wanted to spend the next few blog posts highlighting some of the features of the new Carolina Kids website. This new website is intended to give you direct access to a wide variety of pediatric information, in an easily accessible format. I'll start with the blue box labelled "Quick Access" in the center of the home page. In this box, I particularly like the second link, entitled "Community Resources." I frequently pull this up on my Ipad during office visits - and usually find that my patients are surprised about the resources available here. On this page, you will find office weblinks and phone numbers for great pediatric dentists in our area, local resources for breastfeeding support (don't forget Sue Glaesner, our wonderful lactation consultant at Carolina Kids), postpartum depression support, early intervention resources for kids with developmental delay, behavioral support for young children, resources for kids with ADHD and autism, resources for weight and healthy lifestyle management, and resources for mental health crisis. In the Triangle, we are fortunate to have a broad range of community resources to support your child and your family, and we are happy to organize some of these resources on our website for you.
